Product Review: E.L.F Little Black Book
August 11
Recently I purchased E.L.F's Little Black Book eye shadow palette in the warm edition. It cost $10 and I really like it. The colors are very pigmented and bright. I have been using the rose-orange color (swatched to the right) the most. It blends well with almost all the colors I have used so far. The palette comes with two blending brushes. I primarily use the finer tip brush to blend. I would definitely recommend this product. For the price, it is a good buy.

Mini Makeup Haul
I finally got around to Target to grab a few makeup products that I've been needing. So, let's get right to it!
July 14

Brows
Eyes
I have been looking for a cream eyeliner for a long time. I've used liquid and pencils, but they weren't doing it for me. The cream eyeliner by e.l.f is easy to put on and looks nice. But, it does take a few dips to make it look good.
I unintentionally lost my brow brush/comb a while ago and I just now replaced it. I have used the e.l.f brush before and it is a great tool to have. I also bought a different color pencil. This is the Wet n Wild Kohl Crayon in the color Simma Brown Now! I was afraid that it would be too light, but it is the perfect shade.
Face
At first, I was a little iffy about this palette. But I actually like it. As you can see, this is the Black Radiance True Complexion palette. I use the color Medium to Dark. They also have Light to Medium and Medium. I love how the contour came out on my skin and the highlight is great too. I don't really need the sculpt portion, but it comes out nice as well.

Fashion Don'ts: Summer Edition
Summer is here and so is the return of the fashion disasters. I've seen one too many bad outfits so far. Here are the fashion don'ts of the summer.
1. Pick a season. Please, don't wear socks with flip-flops. Either you're hot, or you're cold.
2. If you are wearing a revealing bathing suit, make sure it doesn't reveal everything. Leave a little something to the imagination
3. Too tight isn't cute. Don't wear shirts, pants, bathing suits, anything that is too small.
4. Crocs. I'll let you ponder upon that. Let's just say don't do it.
5. Super short-shorts. I, and the rest of the world, don't want to see your cheeks. Remember the arm rule in school? (Your shorts have to touch your fingertips?) Maybe use that as a reference and go to your wrist or palm.

Birthday Makeup
My 19th birthday was this yesterday!! I decided to actually put on makeup. So here is the look!
I didn't use foundation, as usual. But I did use eye shadow. The Golden TruNaked palette is my favorite palette. I used a off-white color in the corner of my eye, a gold on the crease, a pop of forest green under the gold, and a dark brown color on the outer side. Also, I used a lighter gold next to the corner in a V formation.

Next, I used my E.L.F highlighter in the color Baked. I have a obsessive relationship with my highlighter. I also used Loreal's lipstick in the color Liya.

Cute Outfits for Work

This past summer, I worked as a receptionist. I gave myself a dress code of business-casual. Here is a look at what I wore during one of the weeks.

Thrift Haul
April 7
If you read my post, "Cheap Stores for the Non-Thrifter, you clearly know that I am not a huge fan of thrifting. But, over spring break, I had a revelation. My eyes were opened. OK I'm being a little dramatic. However, I did find some really cute items. And the total for the five items was around $13. So take a look at what I got! Everything shown is from Volunteers of America.

This windbreaker was found in the men's section. It's ideal for spring or fall. Price: $2.99

I thought this top was really cute. Even though it looks cropped, it's fitted. Price: $1.99
I love this over-sized jean jacket. I pretty much matches everything. Price: $1.99
This find was really unexpected. The sheer sleeves are what sold me. Price: $3.99

If you don't know by now, I love over-sized clothes. This is a cute top that I will probably pair with a tank and jeans. Price: $1.99
Must Have Trends: Baseball Hats
Baseball hats are not a new trend in any way. However, in the past year baseball hats with cute sayings or images have been trending. I am really into this trend. I have yet to buy one, but trust me, I will. Here are a few popular hats I have seen on Pinterest and in public.

Check out baseball hats like these on Etsy and Ace Hat Collection. They have reasonably priced hats that are so cute. And you don’t even have to go out to the store to get them! So, grab your computer and hat shop away!! Stay uniquely you,

February Favorites: Lip Stick
February 24
Have you been looking for a change in your choice of lipsticks? Well, look no further! Here are four of my favorite lipsticks from this month.

Black Radiance 5005. It comes off as a bold red color. Very beautiful, especially when pairing with a black dress.

L'Oreal Liya's Nude 630. This is the smoothest lipstick I own. A beautiful, light color that is great for causal outfits.

Revlon Black Cherry 477. This was my very first lipstick and I still buy it. This is a deep, burgundy color that pairs well with any outfit

Maybelline Chocoholic 785. Out of all my lipsticks, I wear this one the most. This is a gorgeous, brown color. I pair this with dressy and casual outfits.
My makeup love, hate, and wish list
You might be wondering, "What exactly does this title mean?" Well, I have different types of makeup products that I love, hate, and wish to use. On a normal day, if I have time, I will put on minimal makeup. On special occasions, I will try to put on a full face. But my full face is different than other people's full face. It only includes eyeliner, eye shadow, brows, blush and lipstick. That is why my first hate is foundation. I like the thought of foundation, but I can not stand it on my skin. Without fail, my skin will break out after having it on. Aside from the constant break out, it also looks weird on me. I have dry skin. Therefore, my skin feels and looks caked on with the foundation covering it. My first love is eye shadow. If there is one makeup product that I actually enjoy putting on, it's eye shadow. I love experimenting with different colors and making my eye shadow compliment my outfit. One makeup product I wish I had is highlighter. Highlighter looks soooooooooooo good on melanin skin. It looks great on all colors of skin. I just love how it gives off a beautiful glow, especially in sunlight. I am currently looking for different products to add to my makeup collection, and highlighter is at the top of my list. My second hate item is mascara. You will rarely see me wearing mascara. It's not due to the look; I love the look of mascara. I hate mascara going into my eyes and I also hate taking it off. Pretty much, the only thing I don't like is the process. My second love is eyeliner. Listen, I absolutely hate putting eyeliner on. Sometimes I have to take it off and redo it. But, eyeliner, in my opinion, can bring a look together. I slap it on when I am having a lazy day or when I want to look cute without every other product on my face.
My last product will be a wish. I really want to try concealer. I have dark circles (like many people). While that isn't a huge problem, I don't always want to look tired. So yes I know, you don't have to say it, my challenge will be finding a concealer that will blend in perfectly without me wearing foundation.Bonus wish: makeup setting spray to bring everything together. Now I know I may not need setting spray since I'm not wearing foundation or powder, but I like the thought of a refreshing spritz so maybe what I'll buy is something like the Evian Mineral Water Facial Spray. Let me know if any of you Queens that don't wear foundation is using any type of setting sprays.
So I might be making a few trips to Target in the near future (Mac will have to be gifted hint hint mom). You know how it is, struggling student on a budget. I want to experiment with what looks good on me and what doesn't. And, I want to make my makeup collection 100x bigger. OK maybe not that big , but you get the point. What are your loves, hates, and wishes? Let me know in the comments below! As always, be uniquely you.

Cheap stores for the non-thrifter

January 13
Before you all say anything, I did try to like thrifting. Call me what you like, but I just can't get behind it. The only store I enjoy that is remotely close to thrifting, is Plato's closet. But here is my problem, I am very frugal (for a better term). I refuse to send $40 on one shirt, it's just ridiculous. So where do I buy my clothes from? Here are 5 cheap stores for the frugal non-thrifter.

1. Forever 21 ~ This is already a popular store for thrifters and non-thrifters. They always have cute dresses and tops. Also look at their clearance. My typical spend: $25

2. Marshalls~ Probably my favorite place to shop. I always find $5-10 leggings. Their clothes are cute and affordable. My typical spend: $30

3. T.J Maxx~ This is pretty much the same as Marshalls. They are the same in price and have clothes that are just as stylish. My typical spend: $30

4. Rue 21~ They are having up to 70% off the entire website until Monday Jan. 16! Their clothes are very stylish and the prices are great. Plus, while writing this post I bought a really cute dress and a pair of joggers. Oops. My typical spend: $25

5. Ross~ When it comes to price, Ross is probably the best. They have great deals on cute clothes, shoes, and home items. Now, if you really want to save money and look good, this is the place to go. My typical spend: $20

Bonus~ H&M has $10 jeans every know and then. Highly reccommend

Fashion Do's & Don'ts
December 2, 2016
Do's

1. Wear deep, sultry colors in the winter and light, airy colors in the spring

2. Match gold and silver in very subtle ways. For example, wear small gold earrings with a silver ring(s).

3. Wear open-toed shoes with maxi skirts or dresses and wear closed-toed heels with dress pants or shorter skirts and dresses.
Dont's

1. Do not wear brown shoes with a black coat or black pants

2. Do not overuse jewelry. For example, don't wear bangles, five rings, hoop earrings and a long necklace.

3. Do not abuse patterns. Try to have one pattern and match that with a complimenting color.
