How I Plan Trips

I love the idea of travelling. I think it is a great way to be immersed in other cultures and meet people from very different backgrounds. I saw a quote the other day that suggested to travel now even if you don't have the money because at some point, you'll run out of time. It inspired me, to say the least. I plan on traveling at least once a year (once I get out of college). I don't want to regret not going somewhere, especially since there are ways to travel for cheap. While I don't travel a whole lot right now, I do plan trips. Down below are my ways of planning the perfect trip.

1. When searching for flights, look on Tuesdays and search in incognito. (I actually learned about the incognito tip from my mom and sister.) That way, Google can't have the searches made specifically for you (when they are specifically for you, the prices are hiked up).

2. Plan months, or even a year, ahead. The earlier you buy plane tickets and hotel rooms, the cheaper they will be. This also gives you some room to cancel if you need to or rearrange your details.

3. Plan a domestic backup for every global trip. In case your trip abroad goes south, plan for a trip closer to home so that your whole vacation won't be wasted.

4. Make a Google Doc or Word of all the restaurants, attractions, and activities you want to go to. Write the addresses, too. This will make you stay "on target" for your trip and it will maximize the idea that you will visit most places you wanted to see.

5. Cut your luggage in half. Whatever you are bringing, take out half of that. This will help you in the future. When you are at the end of your trip and you have brand new clothes and gifts, you will have space for it.

If you want me to do a bigger trip planning blog, let me know! I'd be happy to help.
